Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis has joined Belgian top flight club Anderlecht on loan for the season. The young City player will link up with Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht.
Ex-Hamburg player Vincent Kompany played a big role in the loan signing of Harwood-Bellis from his former club. Harwood-Bellis impressed at English Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers during the second half of last season shortly after putting pen to paper on a new deal at the Etihad Stadium. The young defender signed a new four-year contract at Manchester City.
Harwood-Bellis showed his quality during his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers this year. He played 19 times for the former Premier League winners who ended the latest English Championship season in 15th position.
Harwood-Bellis made his debut for Manchester City in the League Cup during the penultimate season. He made his first appearance for the Citizens during the 3-0 win over Preston North End from the English Championship. He scored his only Manchester City goal till date in the FA Cup win over Port Vale. The Anderlecht loanee scored one of the goals as Manchester City beat Port Vale 4-1. He has played for Manchester City once in the Champions League and that was against Dinamo Zagreb during the penultimate season. Harwood-Bellis came on for the final eight minutes as Manchester City beat Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia 4-1.
