Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany said that he is disappointed with the way his season has gone so far.
He said that he did not expect to be out for so long and that this has affected him mentally.
The Manchester City defender stated that it’s hard to watch the team play from the stand as he would have wanted to be part of the action. He said that very often he finds the team struggling defensively and he thoughts that he could have helped if he was fit to play.
Vincent Kompany admitted however that the current players had done their best to protect the team at the back in his absence and he feels that they have replaced him quite well. Still, he would have loved to be in the team as he feels that he still have a lot to give on the pitch.
Vincent Kompany said that he does not know whether he will still be at the club next season. He admitted that he is not playing much at the moment and that it will all depend on the manager. He believes that he can still play at the highest level, but he will need some time to recover from his injuries and get his form back.
The City defender said that he would have love to win at least a trophy again with Manchester City as he has some good memories with them. At the moment he is spending a lot of time in the treatment room as he wants to get back to his best as soon as he can.
Concerning Manchester City’s season so far he said that it has been a tough one but this is quite understandable as it was Guardiola’s first season. He believes that next season will be better as the players get used to the Spaniard’s method.
